Yuengling Traditional Lager (Yuengling, PA, USA)

Yuengling Traditional Lager (or what you'll get pretty much any time you order a Yuengling) is an amber lager brewed by the Yuengling Brewery in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1829, Yuengling is America's oldest operating brewery and is still family owned as of June 2026. For a very long time, their beer wasn't sold west of Pennsylvania - but after they ramped up production over the years (including purchasing an old Stroh brewery in Tampa, Florida in 1999 and building a second brewing site in Pennsylvania around 2000, they finally began expanding their market with the increased production capacity). North Carolina began getting Yuengling around 2002, targeting the Raleigh market first, directly competing with the local Greensboro-based Red Oak. During my college years at NC State you'd be able to get pitchers or huge drafts of either beer for around $2/$3.
